PIATE Art Fair 2026 YEATU Booth Event | Take the Memory Explorers Quiz and Receive a Sunyang Oak Somaek Can
The hand gesture that comes to mind when someone asks you to mime making a phone call reveals more than you might expect. Some people extend their thumb and little finger, while others hold an imaginary smartphone to their ear. The same act of “calling” is remembered through entirely different gestures, shaped by the time each person has lived through.
At PIATE Art Fair 2026, YEATU presents Memory Explorers, an interactive booth event inspired by these small but vivid differences. Through quiz questions about phone-call gestures, familiar objects from the past, and symbols once found on telephone keypads, visitors can compare answers and share memories across generations.
A Memory for Some, a New Discovery for Others

Cultural experiences are not made only from what is new. We can also encounter something unfamiliar when we revisit what we already know through someone else’s perspective.
Memory Explorers is built around that very idea. Rather than simply labeling past objects and expressions as “things from back then,” it turns them into questions that today’s visitors can answer and talk about. For those who remember them, it is a chance to revisit their own time; for those encountering them for the first time, it offers new cultural clues.
Alongside the experience of viewing artworks at PIATE Art Fair, YEATU hopes to create a moment of participation where visitors can pause, share their memories, and connect with one another.
For those who remember those days, a can of Sunyang Oak Somaek Can. For some, it is a memory; for others, a new discovery.
An Interactive Event at the YEATU Booth Every Day at 2 PM
Memory Explorers takes place every day at 2 PM throughout PIATE Art Fair.
Visitors who answer all three questions correctly will receive one can of Sunyang Oak Somaek Can. The alcoholic-beverage prize is available only to adults aged 19 and over, with ID verification required on site. Prizes are limited to the first 20 participants each day, and the event will end once the daily supply runs out.
The event is about more than getting the right answers. Talking with the people you came with—“This is how I used to do it”—and discovering why your memories differ is itself part of the experience.

Another Record, Continued Through Photos and Videos
Memory Explorers also includes a social-media verification event.
Take a photo or video at the YEATU booth or in front of the Memory Explorers panel, then upload it to an Instagram Story, post, or Reel with #YEATU #Sunyang #OakSomaek. Show the uploaded post to an on-site staff member to receive a random Memory Explorers keyring.
The keyring is available to social-media participants regardless of their quiz result. This participation format is designed so that the memories created on site can continue beyond the booth and remain as each visitor’s own record.
The Way We Encounter Art Is Also the Way We Share Memories
An art fair is a place to encounter new works and creators. At the same time, it is a place where visitors can look again at the time they have lived through and the sensibilities they carry with them.
A single phone-call gesture, a symbol whose name has changed, or the shape of an old object can start a conversation. Memory Explorers is a program that opens up that conversation at the YEATU booth.
At PIATE Art Fair 2026, we invite you to bring out your own memories and share the distinct sensibilities of different eras.
