109 Ways of Seeing: A Spring Exhibition Worth Your Time

Most exhibitions come and go. You see them, you forget them. But every now and then, one makes you pause.

This April, “Spring Path of Paintings” at Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail Gallery in Nowon starts with a simple question:

How many exhibitions actually stay with you?

Held in celebration of the 46th Day of Persons with Disabilities, the exhibition runs from April 15 to April 29, with an opening on April 17 at 2 PM. Inside, you’ll find 109 works by artists from the Korea Association of Artists with Disabilities.

From Western painting and traditional Korean art to calligraphy, craft, and photography, the mediums vary. The perspectives do too.

But they all point to one idea:

We may share the same world, but we don’t all see it the same way.

Founded in 1995, the association has continuously supported artists with disabilities, not only by providing platforms to exhibit their work, but by building an environment where their artistic practices can grow and sustain over time.

This exhibition doesn’t stop at viewing.

By scanning the QR code next to each artwork, you can explore the story and context behind the piece, and if it resonates, continue that connection through purchase.
