A new initiative has begun to connect local cultural content with finance and technology, creating a more sustainable ecosystem for creators. Global cultural finance fintech startup EverTreasure has partnered with the Nowon Foundation for Arts and Culture to explore new ways of transforming regional festival content into long-term cultural assets.

EverTreasure announced on June 12 that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Nowon Foundation for Arts and Culture to promote the growth and value expansion of local arts and cultural initiatives.

The signing ceremony took place on June 10 at the Nowon Culture and Arts Center in Seoul. Through this partnership, both organizations aim to strengthen the local cultural ecosystem and expand public access to the arts by collaborating on art projects, technology exchange, marketing initiatives, and the development of new cultural programs.

A key focus of the partnership is applying EverTreasure’s cultural finance model to Nowon’s representative festival, “Nowon Moonlight Walk.”

While many festival artworks and creative projects often disappear after an event ends, the collaboration aims to preserve light sculptures and artistic content created during the festival as digital asset data, supporting sustainable creative opportunities for local artists.

EverTreasure plans to leverage the intellectual property (IP) data of Nowon’s cultural content and artists through its proprietary technology-based valuation engine, VALQ, which analyzes the value of cultural assets. In addition, its blockchain-based authentication solution, EverSeal, will help protect ownership rights and manage the history of creative works.

The company also plans to connect regional artists to broader investment and distribution ecosystems through its cultural investment platform YEATU and artist networking platform EverlynQ. The goal is to help cultural content move beyond temporary exhibitions and events, allowing creative assets to accumulate long-term value.

However, the financialization and assetization of cultural content remain in an early stage in Korea. Challenges such as establishing valuation standards for art assets, ensuring investment stability, and addressing concerns around the commercialization of public art still need further development. Whether regional cultural content can successfully translate into sustainable economic value will require continued validation.

“By combining the Nowon Foundation for Arts and Culture’s festival IP with EverTreasure’s technology, we aim to establish an inclusive cultural finance model that extends the lifespan of regional artistic content,” said EverTreasure CEO Everine Jo. “We will continue building reliable infrastructure so that local cultural assets can receive the recognition and value they deserve in both domestic and global markets.”
