Seoul·Hangang Art Festa 2025: Where Different Lights Become One Spectrum

Exhibition Overview

From September 16 to 25, 2025, Gallery 808 at Seongnam Arts Center will host the second edition of Seoul·Hangang Art Festa, organized by the Korea International Culture Forum (KICF).

Building on its debut at Seongsu Stella in 2024, this year’s exhibition sets out to give emerging and disabled artists the visibility they deserve and to cultivate a more open, inclusive art ecosystem.

Why This Matters

South Korea’s art market is still largely shaped by a small circle of elite collectors, leaving emerging talents and disabled artists with few chances to share their work.

Seoul·Hangang Art Festa 2025 challenges this imbalance by creating a space where artists from different backgrounds can rise above prejudice, build empathy, and grow together.

It’s more than just an exhibition — it’s an attempt to reimagine art as a space of equal access, shared opportunity, and collective possibility.

What You’ll See

This year’s edition brings together 17 artists with and without disabilities, presenting over 60 works across painting, sculpture, and installation.

Look out for pieces by Lee Mingi , Yang Woojin, and Bae Jaeyeol — artists on the autism spectrum who continue to create with remarkable drive and focus.

 

Also on view are Song Sookeun’s Rock Mountain series, capturing the quiet power and presence of stone landscapes, and Kim Kyungyong’s paintings, which transform deeply personal inner worlds into imagined spaces.
