Seoul Hangang Art Festa Embraces Art with Social Impact

Seoul, October 15, 2024 — Along the calm flow of the Han River, a new kind of art festival quietly made waves.

The Seoul Hangang Art Festa, which recently opened its inaugural edition, redefined what it means to bring together creativity and community. More than just a celebration of art, the event became a stage for meaningful giving, public engagement, and global cultural exchange.

Art that Gives Back

At the opening ceremony and launch party, over 50 artists presented more than 200 artworks, offering a diverse view of Korea’s contemporary art scene. A charity auction held onsite drew attention not only for the works on display but for the values they carried.

One standout moment came from Artime Joe, a globally acclaimed Korean graffiti artist.

His live-painted work, “Love, Like or Nothing”, was created in real time at the festival and later donated to Seongdong High School.

“I wanted to express a world full of love and likes—with no room for hate,” said Artime Joe.

This donation was made possible through the collaboration of the Korean Center for Arts and Culture Forum (KCARTFORUM) and YEATU, combining the power of creativity with a message of social responsibility.

As a nonprofit cultural organization, KCARTFORUM has long been committed to promoting Korean contemporary art to a global audience.

At this year’s festival, the forum played a key role in connecting artists, curators, and viewers from around the world—creating a platform for international exchange and mutual understanding.

Their efforts continue to build bridges across cultures, supporting Korean artists as they expand their presence on the global stage.

YEATU: Technology Meets Art Investment

Also making its mark at the festival was YEATU, a digital platform connecting artists and investors.

With an AI-driven system, YEATU enables data-informed art investment, helping both creators and supporters find the right match for their projects.

Through this event, YEATU expanded its global network and reaffirmed its mission to activate the creative economy—empowering the art ecosystem with technology, transparency, and trust.

The Seoul Hangang Art Festa reminded us that art can be more than a moment of aesthetic appreciation—it can be a tool for change, a gift to the community, and a message of empathy.
